There was no nigh latch facility, which I needed and was on the previous versions of the lock. Firmware needed a special upgrade to change the region…. Just be careful!

The lock works but the defective keypad vision took three weeks to replace
For the first few days, the combo lock and keypad vision worked like magic. Until I returned home and the keypad was completely unresponsive and showed as disconnected on the Switchbot App. I tried recharging it, switching it on and off, resetting it, and pressing every combination of keys, unparing it, but it would not respond. I emailed support for help. After some back and forth, and sometimes days before they would reply, they finally agreed to send a replacement three weeks later.
Having a smart lock without a keypad is not much less convenient than having a physical key. To make my experience easier, I used the auto-lock function, which meant I had to always have my phone or key with me to get back in. The auto-unlock (beta) worked, but only if I left the geofence area and if I opened the app before approaching my door.
The replacement finally came and I have now been using it with firmware version 1.6 for 5 days, but have not yet added facial recognition. I have been using the fingerprint sensor to unlock the door and this has been working well so far. There is still a problem, though I can live with it. I set the keypad to silent several times, but it will reset it self to high volume Japanese. Annoying, but fine.

The lock works but the defective keypad vision took three weeks to replace
For the first few days, the combo lock and keypad vision worked like magic. Until I returned home and the keypad was completely unresponsive and showed as disconnected on the Switchbot App. I tried recharging it, switching it on and off, resetting it, and pressing every combination of keys, unparing it, but it would not respond. I emailed support for help. After some back and forth, and sometimes days before they would reply, they finally agreed to send a replacement three weeks later.
Having a smart lock without a keypad is not much less convenient than having a physical key. To make my experience easier, I used the auto-lock function, which meant I had to always have my phone or key with me to get back in. The auto-unlock (beta) worked, but only if I left the geofence area and if I opened the app before approaching my door.
The replacement finally came and I have now been using it with firmware version 1.6 for 5 days, but have not yet added facial recognition. I have been using the fingerprint sensor to unlock the door and this has been working well so far. There is still a problem, though I can live with it. I set the keypad to silent several times, but it will reset it self to high volume Japanese. Annoying, but fine.

Switchbot's new Lock Ultra takes 10 minutes to install, is a retrofit Smart lock that even renters can install over the top of their existing key that works with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Homekit via Matter, BUT it also now works with Home Assistant LOCALLY using Bluetooth. But more interestingly they have just released their Switchbot Vision Keypad which unlocks your door using a face scanner.
