These work really well just took a lot longer to set up on the Curtain bot.
Need a device thatcan provide a cinstant press. An example is a minentarycontact sswitchhatyouwant to close withcone action. Then open with another action.
I like the solar panels because it's nice not to worry about charging. BUT, they hang very high on the switchbot, so I had to mount them on the curtains. This probably wouldn't have been a huge issue, but I accidentally bought the WHITE panels. So I have these white panels and cords on our curtains that are very visible from outside. I considered just taking them off, but I had to install white velcro strips to hold them onto the curtains, which I don't think would be easy to remove. Long and short, the solar panels would be perfect if there was a way to hang them lower on the actual switchbots. Then, if you're an idiot and order the wrong colour, you'd have less to worry about.
Well worth the purchase. Love the automation to my curtains. I used no sew hem tape to connect 3 panels together, and this still has enough power to move them. Only 2 things: 1) the aluminum connectors are a great idea, but the tape needs to be re-enforced 2) instructions were a little unclear on how to connect to the Google Home, but eventually figured it out (you have to enable cloud). Happy with the purchase and looking at adding more units.
Make sure you realize that the device works well for situations and scenarios that are specific for a type of resident. If you have a covered backyard patio, then this product is worthless. If you have an apt in a skyrise or direct sunlight, then it might be the right purchase. You can guess what bucket I fall in.
