Privacy Policy on Linking and Using Homerunpet Product Features

In addition to consenting to our App Privacy Policy, please carefully read and confirm the following so that you fully understand how we collect, transmit, use, and store your information when you link and use Homerunpet products through the SwitchBot App. You may choose not to consent to this policy; however, if you do so, we will be unable to provide you with the feature for linking and using Homerunpet products.

  1. Scope and Purpose of Sharing Personal Information

    To enable the network connection features, device management, and ongoing after-sales support for Homerunpet products, we need to share certain personal information with our partner, Homerunpet Japan.

    Scope of personal information to be shared: the registered email address and unique user identifier (UserID) that are already stored on the SwitchBot cloud servers.

    Purpose of sharing: to provide stable services, including linking Homerunpet products, synchronizing your device status in the Homerunpet cloud, connecting to the account system of the Homerunpet App, firmware updates, and remote control.

  2. Basic Information of the Recipient

    Recipient name: Homerunpet Japan

    Location of receipt and storage of personal information: The cloud servers used by Homerunpet Japan to store the above information.

    Protection method: Homerunpet Japan will handle and protect personal information in accordance with its official privacy policy at https://homerunpet.jp/pages/privacy-policy.

  3. Legal Basis and Protective Measures

    In accordance with the provisions regarding "entrusted processing" under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information, we take the following protective measures:

    • We enter into a written entrusted processing agreement with Homerunpet Japan, clearly stipulating matters such as the purpose, scope, term, security management obligations, and prohibition on further provision in relation to the handling of personal information;
    • We exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over Homerunpet Japan, including regularly reviewing its security management status and requiring it to provide relevant certifications or security reports;
    • We require Homerunpet Japan to notify us immediately in the event of a security incident, including any leakage of personal information, and to cooperate with us in taking response measures.

  4. Protective measures of the partner

    We have entered into a data processing agreement and standard contractual terms for personal information with the partner (contractual terms based on Japan APPI standards), thereby ensuring that the partner takes security management measures equivalent to those required by Japanese law.

  5. Your Rights and How to Withdraw Consent

    You may unlink Homerunpet devices at any time in "Device Settings" in the SwitchBot App. After unlinking, we will stop transmitting any new personal information to Homerunpet Japan. After unlinking, you may also request, through the contact information below, that we notify Homerunpet Japan to delete all of your personal information that it has stored. If you link a Homerunpet product again, you will be deemed to have accepted this supplemental policy again.
