AI Dialogue Function Privacy Policy

Please read the following additional information on top of our App Privacy Policy and Kata Friends Privacy Policy, so that you can fully understand how we collect, transmit, use, and store your information when you use the Kata Friends AI Dialogue function. You have the right to decline this policy; however, if you do so, we will be unable to provide you with the Kata Friends AI Dialogue function.

1. Collection of Personal Information

When you enable the Kata Friends AI Dialogue function and enter the AI dialogue mode through the designated activation phrase, the Kata Friends device will collect your voice input through the microphone and upload it to the cloud-based speech recognition model (service provider: Agora, Inc.) for speech-to-text conversion. The dialogue mode will automatically exit when you speak the designated ending phrase for longer than the set duration, or when the surrounding environment has been quiet for longer than the set duration. After exiting, the device will stop collecting voice input.
Each time you enter the AI dialogue mode, the city location information you set in the Home Management function will be uploaded from our cloud servers to Agora, Inc. and the third-party cloud large language model service provider, for the purpose of providing weather information for your set city to you.

2. Transmission and Use of Personal Information

After speech recognition is completed, the converted text content (excluding the original voice recording) will be transmitted to the third-party cloud large language model (specifically GPT, service provider: OpenAI) for semantic understanding and response generation. The results will be returned to the device for interactive display.
Please note regarding sections 1 and 2 above:
• Your voice input will be processed by the cloud speech recognition model service provider, and your dialogue text will be processed by the third-party cloud large language model service provider. The specific processing procedures are subject to the respective data processing agreements of each service provider;
• Your data will be processed at the server nodes corresponding to your region and will not be transmitted across regions;
• We will not use your voice input and dialogue text for model training or provide them to any third party other than the service providers mentioned above.

3. Storage of Personal Information

Your voice input, converted text content, and returned results will be stored in the cloud servers of the service providers mentioned above. The storage period is subject to the relevant regulations of each service provider. Our cloud servers will also store the converted text content and returned results to enable context understanding and memory functions for AI dialogue, providing you with a seamless service experience. For more details on personal information storage, please refer to our App Privacy Policy.

4. Withdrawal of Consent

If you need to stop the collection of personal information for the AI Dialogue function, you can disable this function in the App settings. After disabling, the device will no longer collect dialogue input or transmit any dialogue data to the cloud. If you enable this function again, it will be deemed as re-accepting this supplementary policy.
