SwitchBot AI+ Video Collection Privacy Policy

By using our AI+ services, you acknowledge you have read and agreed to our app's general Privacy Policy (Profile → Preferences → About) as well as this specific privacy policy for AI+ services. This document explains how we collect, transmit, use, and store your information including the way we protcet your information when you use your AI Hub with AI+ functionality. You may decline this policy, but doing so will disable all AI+ services.
Important Notice: AI+ services are designed exclusively for indoor residential use. Commercial and public space applications, or any activities involving collection of others' personal information or illegal purposes are strictly prohibited.
1. Personal Information Collection
When you enable the functionality and subscribe to the service after associating your cameras/Video Doorbell to the AI Hub, the associated devices will begin collecting video footage. The camera uses its onboard AI models to analyze the footage in real-time, detecting motion or scene changes. Upon identifying a triggering event (such as motion or significant scene changes), the camera will record the event video, and after being scrubbed on the device to remove sensitive information，securely transmit encrypted image extracts to our cloud servers for further processing.
PLEASE BE AWARE these images may contain personal information (such as faces or body figures), activities, home environments, furnishings, and potentially children's information.
2. Transmission and Use of Personal Information
On our cloud servers, the transmitted images are automatically processed by AI models for image recognition and analysis to detect human motions, vehicles, pets, food, household appliances, and other objects.
This generates structured data containing text descriptions of events, which are then transmitted to and displayed in your app. Based on this data, the app retrieves corresponding event videos from AI Hub, determines the local devices to be activated and action commands to be executed according to specific scenarios. This enables you to review corresponding event videos from AI Hub, create scenario-specific Automations with other SwitchBot devices, and perform content-based semantic searches.
Please note that in Step 1 above, the video data captured by AI Hub will not be transmitted to cloud servers or any third parties. In Step 2, the image information and structured data processed on cloud servers will not be transmitted to any third parties.
3. Personal Information Storage
Images and structured data uploaded to the cloud server will be retained and stored on the cloud server. You can view and download stored event information within the application according to your specific needs.
AI Hub stores video footage on its microSD card, with new events automatically overwriting the oldest recordings when storage capacity is reached.
Depending on the purpose of data usage,during transmission, processing, and storage, data may be anonymized to prevent identification of individuals, and processed structured data cannot be reconstructed into original images.For details about how we store personal data, please check our Privacy Policy in the app (you can find it following the same path mentioned earlier).
When you use a third-party camera product that has been certified by us and has agreed to our User Agreement and Privacy Policy, the product will only serve as a component of the Cam device bound to the AI Hub. The AI+ services you enjoy are still provided by us. The aforementioned third-party product providers will not independently collect, use, or store your personal information, nor will we share your personal information with them. The data generated from your use of the third-party product on the Cam device bound to the AI Hub will be stored and processed on our servers.
4.Withdrawing Consent
We respect your data rights. To discontinue AI+ services and stop personal information collection, simply disable the AI+ function in the app and ensure cancellation of any AI+ service subscriptions. (Services will remain active until the current subscription period ends, after which all charges will cease.) This will immediately terminate all data collection and processing under this policy. By activating (or reactivating) AI+ services, you acknowledge acceptance of this policy, which is a required condition for service provision.
