I have two switchbots and a hub and they work perfectly to switch on and off my two aircons. First button press turns on and second turns off. I have them hooked up to smartthings for automating when they turn on and off, and that works most of the time. The only problem is that ever so often when smartthings tells switchbot to turn on or off, switchbot will press the button twice and suddenly on is off and off is on, which is less than ideal. This happens a few times a day, making the whole setup almost useless.
When I get this issue, the switch inside the smartthings app will show the opposite of what the aircon is actually set to. At first I thought that the problem was that the button was not being pressed correctly, but I realized that it was actually being pressed twice in a row. And I was able to reproduce this by pressing on and off multiple times and every 10th press or so will be a double press.
Is this something that anybody else has experienced? Are there any known workarounds?
I'm now experimenting with not having Smartthings issue the press directly, but go through IFTTT, which seems to work a bit better, but I still see cases of the A/C suddenly being in the wrong state.
