Hi John,

SwitchBot (the Bot) can mechanically push down the switch you are sharing, works similar to your finger. The swing angle of the Bot is 135 degree.

Share us more info about your use case and switch/remote, so we could understand more about your plan.

Cheers,

Linda

Thank you Linda. This question was more about if the bot was strong enough to push the button. The button itself it's rather firm since the action of it compresses a little crystal which generates current to power the RF signal. It's not difficult to click, but it requires more strength than a typical remote button.

Hi jw,

Well, SwitchBot is designed with a maximum torque 1.0 kgf, which is strong enough to push most light switches, but still limited force. We are not sure how firm is the button.

If you check out video below, you see SwitchBot could lift up a 500 mL bottle of coke.

So the close idea is, if you put the switch (spare not used) on the desk, and the bottle of cock or water could trigger the switch, then SwitchBot likely can work. Otherwise, SwitchBot does not have enough strength.

Hope this can help you get some idea.

Cheers,

Linda
