Control air conditioning system

Hello everybody!

I have a switchbot installed to turn the air conditioning panel on and off as it can not be programmed. I know I can use the switchbot's own timers, but I would have to configure a lot of them to last an entire night. What I would really like is to be able to say for example "turn on, after 15 minutes you turn off and after another 15 minutes turn on again" ... and let this be a loop for "x" hours.

What I want to achieve is to turn on the air conditioning at night and forget about pressing buttons. Being able to program the cadence with which I want it to turn on and off and if I can also tell you how many hours the order should be repeated, it would be perfect.

Can it be done with IFTTT? ...

Can someone help me with this?...

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards to all!

Hi JAS,

Sorry for the delayed reply. We have been working on a new product which is designed right for you!

Please try our new product: SwitchBot Hub Plus:

https://www.switch-bot.com/product-page/switchbot-hub-plus

SwitchBot Hub Plus makes your old appliances like air conditioners, TVs smart instantly.

SwitchBot Hub Plus is a Bluetooth access point which connects SwitchBots to the Internet via Wi-Fi. It works like SwitchBot Hub so you have no need to place two things in your room. Then it is an all-in-one remote controller which works with over 4,500 different brands in 14 catalogs. It can replace the remotes to your TV & projectors, cable & satellite boxes, air conditioners, cameras, DVD players, fans, speakers or just about any other device that you can think of that is infrared controlled. Moreover, it can learn and mimic signals from an existing remote.

We now have the first 50 is now under per-order. First come, first served!

Cheers,

Linda

Thanks for your response.

I think it's a great new product, but ... I already have a Switchbot Hub and I can not afford to buy the Switchbot Hub Plus.

Could you help me with my problem by keeping my Hub?

OK, let's figure this out with the Bot and Hub only first.

Basically, what you want is customized programable sequence control. It is a feature under development for the Bot, which is scheduled in around 2 months later.

SwitchBot now support up to 5 timers, which can somehow achieve what you need. If you need more timers, you can try IFTTT IF service "Date & Time", and using "SwitchBot" as THAT service. The ON and OFF button on your air conditioner has to be 2 seperate buttons.

If you have SwitchBot Hub Plus, it works the same.

You might also consider to use Alexa (Amazon Echo) or Google Assistant (Google Home). Both of them comes with routines features.

Great, thanks for your response.

Do you have any plans to use Apple's assistant Siri at some point? ...

No, we don't have a short plan for Apple HomeKit certification. It costs quite much for us at present honestly.

However, you might want to look at homebridge as a workaround. Someone use it to connect SwitchBots with Siri.

Some Russian users managed to do that recently. Report in Russian: https://www.indahomekit.ru/2018/06/14/obzor-knopkonazhimatelya-switch-bot/

You might want to search and ask the community more about the homebridge integration.

Hi,

I would like to do exactly the same thing (with a mural AC remote without IR)

When exactly this « smart scheduler » will be available ?

Question for JAS : do you manage to get it work with IFTT ?

Thanks !

Hi Benj200,

Sorry, the "smart scheduler" is planned in 2 months later. All the team is putting the new product Hub Plus as the priority, and we lack of hands with this for now.

We had a testing demo which can do like press Bot every 15 minutes. But it lacks of test and tuning, so we did not put it to the official release.

Having said that, I believe IFTTT can achieve what you want with the Bot and the Hub (or Hub Plus). Set up your Bot and Hub, toggle on IFTTT feature for your Bot, then use "Date & Time" as This with Trigger "Every hour at" and "Minutes past the hour" configured, SwitchBot "Bot Press" as That.

Cheers,

Linda

Thanks a lot for your answer ! Can’t wait for this feature to be released.

Just another question, do you think the smart switch can activate this kind of switch ?

Hi Benj200,

Yes, SwitchBot works well with your DAIKIN control pannel. We had some users reports for the same use cases.

Cheers,
